Cocktail Hour

Cheers, we made it to Friday! We’re celebrating the start of the weekend the best way we know how – with matcha cocktails! As many of our readers know by now, we have a slight matcha obsession-and can you really blame us? Not only is matcha delicious but it’s also a super food! Matcha contains powerful antioxidants that are said to give you an energy boost, kick start your metabolism and arm up your immune system. So tonight why not celebrate the end of a long work week with one of these yummy cocktails, all made even more delicious with the added addition of matcha?!

Spicy Matcha Margarita

Screen Shot 2017-02-17 at 1.43.14 PMWe’d have to argue that (almost) everyone loves a good margarita. And what’s not to love? They’re delicious, easy to make, and ideal for the perfect end of the work week treat (or hey – midweek too!). We especially love this recipe because the margaritas have a little extra-added kick thanks to some juicy jalapeños. Combine unsweetened green tea with tequila and mix in some freshly squeezed lime juice, muddled jalapeños, honey simple syrup and ¼ teaspoon matcha powder (make it extra fresh with our Tea Ceré grinding function for tencha leaves). Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously Pour over ice and top with some sliced jalapeños and a fresh lime wedge. Yum!

Minty Matcha Cocktailmatcha-mojito

Mojitos always remind us that warmer days are to come, so why not celebrate summer a little earlier this year with this delicious matcha mojito. In a glass combine mint leaves, lime juice, sugar, matcha powder and mix until the sugar dissolves. Then fill the glass up with ice and top with some ginger ale. Stir it all up, combine with some fresh mint leaves and enjoy
