Keep it fresh with steam

Spring is the best season for cooking because of the availability of healthy foods like fresh vegetables. Fresh vegetables make the best side dishes for every meal because they’re tasty, packed with nutrients and best of all, easy to prepare. One of our favorite ways to cook veggies is to steam them in the Supersteam+ because it seals the flavors in so there is no need for added fats from oils. Our Supersteam+ uses Superheated steam which gets up to 485 degrees and can singe right through paper. Fish and shellfish are also great to cook with Superheated steam because this method of cooking doesn’t dry out the delicate fish, preserving its natural flavors.

Skip the salt

Another great thing about cooking with steam? There is no need for salting your foods because the steam has the tendency to wash off any added seasoning. Instead, we recommend seasoning with fresh lemon juice once the food is fully cooked.

You can also get a boost of added flavor by seasoning with fresh herbs. Once spring begins, many gardens begin to bloom. One of our favorite things to grow are fresh herbs to add an extra flavor boost to any meal. Some favorites include thyme, rosemary, basil, and mint.

The start of the season has us excited for the longer and warmer days to come. We can’t wait to start cooking up healthy meals while sitting outside and soaking up some springtime.
