Air purifier filter systems help remove dust, pollen, pet dander, and cigarette smoke particles from the air. However, it’s important to know that all filters are not created equal.
A filter from a popular air purifier model claims to be 99% effective. In this video, Sharp tests it against a Sharp True HEPA filter from an extra large room air purifier using plain baby powder. Sharp True HEPA filters are rated for 99.97% removal of particles as small as 0.3 microns.
As you can see, the baby powder goes right through the popular air purifier filter but does not go through the Sharp filter. It turns out that the small difference in numbers actually translates to a huge difference in capability.
