How to Pop Popcorn in Your Smart Convection Microwave Drawer™ Oven SMD2499FS
Today we will be discussing step-by-step to pop popcorn in your Sharp Smart Convection Microwave Drawer™ Oven.
First, open the Convection Microwave Drawer™ Oven.
Then, remove the metal racks and ceramic tray from the drawer. The metal racks may prevent the bag of popcorn from fully popping. And the ceramic tray may absorb the microwave energy, making it much longer to pop the popcorn.
Place the bag of microwavable popcorn in the bottom of the drawer, following the directions on the bag of popcorn with the appropriate side of the bag facing up.
Only cook one bag at a time. Make sure to use microwavable bagged popcorn.
DO NOT pop popcorn in brown paper bags or loose kernels in glass bowls. These are not designed for popcorn in a microwave and could catch fire.
Close the Microwave Drawer™ Oven. Use the censor popcorn button to have the Convection Microwave Oven automatically pop the popcorn.
For a regular microwave popcorn bag (2.85 to 3.5 ounces) press the “Popcorn” button once. For mini or snack popcorn bags of 1.2 to 1.75 ounces, press the “Popcorn” button twice. You can also manually enter the cooking time, per the directions on the microwave popcorn packaging. It is important if you are using this method, to not exceed the maximum cooking time shown on the microwave popcorn packaging. This could cause the popcorn to burn.
For best popping results, listen while popping corn, for the popping to slow to 1 every 1 to 2 seconds and press “Stop/Cancel” button. This will make sure the popcorn is not overcooked or burnt. When the cooking cycle is complete, open your Convection Microwave Drawer Oven and carefully remove the popcorn button.
Caution: The contents may be very hot!
When opening the microwave popcorn bag, make sure to carefully open it away from your face.
Now, enjoy your popcorn popped with your Sharp Smart Convection Microwave Drawer™ Oven!
