Superheated Steam Oven
Getting the perfect texture from leftover pizza is a struggle I am sure most of us can relate to. Bringing the pizza back to life is possible with the right appliances and techniques at your side.
A Steam Oven can rejuvenate pizza and give it a first-day feeling. The Sharp Smart Combi Built-In Steam Oven uses a combination of superheated steam and conventional cooking technology, giving you food that is crispy and browned on the outside and moist and delicious on the inside. Use Convection Bake Mode for your pizza for dry heated air that circulates evenly throughout the oven. Because pizza crust hardens as it sits, restoring the moisture with a Steam Oven is one of the best ways to get a crispy bottom and cheesy slice without running into a soggy crust.
Traditional Oven
When in doubt, one of the best ways to reheat pizza is in the oven. The low and slow approach heats the pizza without compromising the ultimate crisp.
According to Cook’s Illustrated, the best temperature to reheat pizza in the oven is 275°F. If you are looking for a more crisp crust, try heating the oven to 350°F. Wrap your slice of pizza in aluminum foil and place it on a baking tray. Slide the tray into the oven for about 10 minutes after the oven has reached the desired temperature. Check on the pizza around the 10-minute mark. If you like what you see, remove the pizza from the oven and enjoy. Keep the pizza in the oven for a few minutes longer if you want a crispier crust.
Frying Pan on Cooktop
If you are preparing a slice or two and in a pinch for time, try reheating pizza on your cooktop! This method is also great if you are wondering how to warm your food if you do not have access to an oven at the time.
Place your slice in a nonstick skillet and cook over medium-low heat for a few minutes. Once the bottom layer of crust is crisp, add about a teaspoon of water to the pan and quickly cover it with a lid (aluminum foil works as a great cover if you do not have a lid handy). This small trick makes all the difference and will help melt the cheese. Remove from the heat and dive right in!
While it is hard to give gold to a specific method, we believe the 3 best ways to reheat pizza are on a cooktop, in a steam oven, and in a traditional oven. What is your favorite way to reheat pizza and keep the crust crispy?
