How to Replace the Water Filter in your Sharp Refrigerator | SJG2254FS
In today’s blog, we will be covering step by step details of how to replace the water filter in your Sharp 4 door Counter Depth Refrigerator with Water Dispenser. The Water Filter in your Sharp Refrigerator should be replaced every 6 months, or if there is a noticeable reduction in water pressure when using the dispenser. The “Water Filter” button on the control panel will light up red when it is time to replace.
Firstly, you will need to purchase a replacement filter. The Water Filter this model uses are the SJWF200/ Replacement filters can be purchased from here. An alternative purchase method can be reaching out to our direct line, 1-800-BESHARP.
Once you have your Sharp SJWF200 Water Filter, remove it from its original packaging. Make sure to remove the plastic wrapping and the plastic cap from your water filter.
The water filter is located in a water filter cover in the upper right corner of your refrigerator. Gently press both sides of the Water Filter Cover to unlock and open it downward. With the water filter cover open, rotate the water filter clockwise to unlock it. Once the old water filter stops turning it can be pulled straight out of the water filter cover.
Next, take your new water filter and insert the open end into the water filter cover.
Push the new filter in place until it stops, then rotate it clockwise to lock in place. Once the new water filter is locked in place, you can close the water filter cover and lifting it until it clicks and locks back into place.
Now that your new water filter is in place, on the Control Panel you will press and hold the “Water Filter” button for 3 seconds to reset the counter. This will tell the refrigerator a new filter is in place. The “Water Filter” button should change from red to white once its reset.
Finally, use a large pitcher or something similar to dispense water into. It is recommended to dispense at least one gallon of water to properly flush water through the filter and remove any sediment from the water line. Repeat dispensing water into the pitcher until at least one gallon is dispensed. Making sure to pour out the first gallon of water dispensed.
Now you can enjoy filtered water dispensed from your Sharp Refrigerator!
