Baking Mischief shared a simple and quick way to prepare broccoli in the microwave oven (in just 5 minutes you’ll have broccoli prepped and on the table), and, as you know, we love anything that emphasizes a Simply Better Living.

This magic trick is no trick at all. To microwave broccoli, you will need 1 large head of broccoli (chopped) and 3 tablespoons of water. If you’re feeling daring you can also add 1 tablespoon of salted butter and salt and pepper, but these ingredients are optional.

After you have your ingredients handy, place the chopped broccoli in a microwave-safe bowl and pour the water over it. Cover the top of the bowl with a microwave-safe plate and cook in your Sharp Microwave Oven for 2 1/2 minutes, or until your broccoli is tender. Remove the bowl from the microwave oven and transfer it to a serving dish (be careful, the dish and steam can be hot!). Coat the broccoli with your desired seasonings (I like to keep it simple and use butter and salt and pepper).

Everything Airfryer has one of our favorite ways to make scrambled eggs in the microwave oven. For a simple breakfast, gather 4 eggs, 1 tablespoon of milk, 1 teaspoon of butter, and salt and pepper. How to Microwave Corn on the Cob Corn on the cob in a serving dish

For me? I really like corn. This big lump with knobs has the juice to elevate any meal or gathering. I especially love it can be prepared on the grill, in the oven (Traditional Convection and Superheated Steam), or in the microwave oven. I can’t imagine a more beautiful thing!

Classic Bakes breaks down the steps so we can enjoy this fan favorite in less than 15 minutes. After gathering 4 ears of corn on the cob, 4 tablespoons of butter, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, you’re ready to begin.

Start by removing the husk from each ear of corn and then wrap each ear of corn with a wet paper towel. Place the ears of corn onto a microwave-safe dish and cook in a Sharp Microwave Oven for 2 1/2 minutes. Flip the corn over and cook for another 2 1/2 minutes, or until the corn is fully cooked. Remove the corn from the microwave and unwrap the paper towel to expose the full ear of the corn. Place the corn onto a serving dish of your liking and coat the corn with butter, salt, and pepper (or any other seasonings you may like). Enjoy!

How to Microwave a Baked Potato

Loaded baked potato on a plate with a plaid napkinHot potato coming through! It’s no surprise that potatoes are Baked potatoes are a great side dish for dinner. I love pairing it alongside a juicy, tender steak.

A Few Shortcuts knows a shortcut or two to use when we are pressed for time and still need to prepare a mouthwatering meal. I am particularly fond of this Baked Potato recipe that you can prepare in a microwave oven. For this recipe, you will need 1 medium russet potato, olive oil, salt, a paper bag (or paper towel), and 10 minutes.

To prepare your potato, wash it and poke several holes in it with a fork. Lightly coat the potato with olive oil and place it in the paper bag (or substitute with a paper towel). Place the potato in your Sharp Microwave Oven for 5 minutes. To check for doneness, carefully squeeze the potato. Microwave the potato in 1-minute intervals, checking after each round until it reaches the desired tenderness. Remove the potato from your microwave oven, and cut it in half lengthwise. Dress the potato with your favorite toppings (butter, sour cream, bacon, cheese – the options are endless).

How to Microwave BaconCooked bacon on a black plate

No need to Steal the Bacon here (did anyone else love that game as a kid?). We know sharing is caring and we are going to share our favorite way to microwave bacon!

If you’re short on time and craving crispy bacon, this method from Wholesome Yum is a great way to prepare and enjoy bacon within minutes.

Use 3 layers of paper towels to line a large, microwave-safe plate. Lay the bacon in a single layer on the paper towels, without overlapping the slices. Place another 3 layers of paper towels over the bacon. Depending on the cut of the bacon, microwave for 3-9 minutes (3-5 for thin, 5-6 for average, and 7-9 for thick cut), or until you reached the desired crispiness. Remove from your microwave oven and serve. Enjoy your bacon alone or as a topping in your favorite dishes (I love using it as an extra crunch in Chicken Macaroni Salad)!
