Guest blogger, Nicole Martin of Tea for Me Please, has compiled useful recipes using Sharp’s Tea-Ceré including this indulgent and relaxing matcha face mask!
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon of green tea powder
1 tablespoon of warm water
1 tablespoon of honey
Make a paste out of the green tea and honey and then add warm water. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and there no visible clumps. The consistency should be similar to a mud mask. If it is too dry, slowly add a bit more water. Stir in more tea if it is too runny. Smooth over your face, avoiding the eyes, mouth, and nostrils. Leave the mask on your face for 10 to 15 minutes and then wipe it off with a soft cloth. If you have very sensitive skin, you might want to do a small test spot before covering your entire face.
In order to achieve the best taste and color, it’s important to use high-quality tea leaves in your Tea-Ceré. Matcha should be made from tencha, a shade grown tea from Japan that has been prepared specifically for stone grinding. If you’re unable to find tencha other shade grown teas such as gyokuro or kabusencha may be suitable substitutes.
