Cooked Pork Ribs on a cutting board with sauce

BBQ Pork Ribs

I eat chicken for dinner most nights so I like to switch it up sometimes. I’m a sucker for savory flavors, especially anything that comes off the grill. My mouth is watering just thinking about juicy and tender BBQ!  When I am unable to use my grill I like to use my Sharp Smart Convection Microwave Drawer Oven. It has several different modes such as air fry, convection bake, convection roast, toast, warm, and my personal favorite – convection grill. You can grill up some of your favorite foods like hamburgers and hotdogs from right inside your kitchen! Is it raining outside but you’re craving a juicy burger? Grill it inside your convection microwave oven! I use the convection grill mode all the time to grill all my favorites. I love being able to stay in the kitchen, keep an eye on all my dishes cooking, and talk to my family all while I am preparing the food.

I recently tried this Easy Fall Off the Bone Oven-Baked Rib recipe from Inspired Taste and I know you’ll love it just as much as I did! The recipe is as delicious as it is easy. Let’s fire up the convection microwave oven and get to grilling!

  • Baby back pork ribs (2 to 2 1/2 lbs)
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Olive oil (1 tbsp)
  • Onion, finely diced (1/4 cup)
  • Ground cumin (1/2 tsp)
  • Ribs with BBQ sauce on cutting board Ketchup (1/2 cup)
  • Hot chili sauce (1 tbsp)
  • Light brown sugar (2 tbsp)
  • Apple cider vinegar (1 tbsp)

Prepare Ribs:

  1. Heat the oven to 275°F.
  2. Remove the thin membrane covering the back of the rack of ribs.
  3. Generously season both sides of the ribs with salt and pepper. For additional flavor, season with a spice rub.
  4. Meat-side up, place the rack of ribs into a large roasting pan or rimmed baking sheet. If the rack does not fit, cut the rack in half and place it on the pan or sheet.
  5. Using aluminum foil, cover the pan or baking sheet tightly. Bake until the meat falls easily from the bones. This will take 2 ½ to 3 ½ hours.
  6. Once the meat has cooked through and is tender, your ribs are ready to be removed and coated with barbecue sauce.

Make Barbecue Sauce:

  1. Make the barbecue sauce while the ribs are cooking in the convection oven. Over medium heat, heat the olive oil in a saucepan. Add the onions and cook until soft and translucent, 5 to 8 minutes. Stir in the cumin and cook for an additional 30 seconds. Add the ketchup, hot chili sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar. Stir to combine, season with salt then cook for 2 minutes. Set aside in preparation for the ribs to finish roasting.

To Finish:

  1. Remove the ribs from the oven, discard the aluminum foil and generously brush both sides with barbecue sauce.

fudge brownies on a cutting board

Chocolate Brownies

After cooking up a full meal, I love to treat myself to dessert. It helps me unwind after a long day and that first bite is always so rewarding. Chocolate, especially fudge brownies, is my guilty pleasure. I can never turn down a rich, gooey brownie that just melts in your mouth. I love making this Fudge Brownie recipe from Baker by Nature to make any day better. This recipe combined with these tips from LiveStrong has me making brownies all the time. I can’t get enough. These brownies are the perfect pick-me-up dessert for anyone in your family.

  • Flour (1 cup)
  • Baking powder (1/2 tsp)
  • Salt (1/2 tsp)
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder (1/2 cup)
  • Espresso powder, optional (2 tsp)
  • Unsalted butter (1 1/2 sticks)
  • Canola, vegetable, or coconut oil (3 tbsp)
  • Granulated sugar (1 1/2 cups)
  • Eggs (2 large eggs and 1 egg yolk)
  • Chocolate chips (3/4 cup)

  1. Set the temperature in your Sharp Smart Convection Microwave Drawer Oven to 300°F.
  2. Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Spray the parchment paper lightly with a non-stick baking spray.
  3. Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder, and espresso powder in a large bowl. Once combined, set aside.
  4. Combine the butter, oil, and 1/2 cup of sugar in a medium saucepan and place over medium heat. Stir frequently and remove from heat once the butter has completely melted.
  5. Whisk together the eggs and remaining sugar in a large mixing bowl until well combined.
  6. Slowly whisk the warm butter mixture into the egg mixture. Whisk until it is combined completely.
  7. Slowly stir in the dry ingredients and chocolate chips. Stir until the mixture is just combined.
  8. Pour the batter into the lined baking pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake the brownies in the convection microwave oven for 25-30 minutes. The brownies are done when the edges are firm and the top is shiny and cracked slightly. To check to see if my brownies are cooked through, I like to stick a toothpick in the center of the pan. If the toothpick comes out clean with a few crumbs on it, the brownies are fully cooked.
  10. Place the pan on a cooling rack. Allow the brownies to cool completely before removing them from the pan and serving. Enjoy!

chocolate chip cookies on a cooling tray

Chocolate Chip Cookies

My love for chocolate chip cookies started when I was younger. Whenever I visited my grandparents, my grandmother always had a patch fresh out of the oven. I would sit at the table

Now, whenever I want to be reminded of those moments I help myself to a tall glass of milk and warm chocolate chip cookies. I find myself making them more often and have tried many different cookies but nothing compares to this Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe from Butter Cream Bakeshop. I love the way these melt in my mouth and turn my home into a cookie-scented candle!

  • Baking tray
  • Baking spray
  • Mixing bowls
  • Brown sugar (2 cups)
  • Granulated sugar (1 cup)
  • Chocolate chips
  • Baking powder
  • All-purpose flour
  • Vanilla extract (1 tsp.)
  • Dark chocolate chips (8 oz.)
  • 1 egg

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and butter.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla to the mixture and whisk together until the texture becomes smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the remaining dry ingredients until there are no lumps or clumps.
  4. Slowly mix the dry ingredients into the butter and sugar mixture. Mix until well combined, being sure not to overmix.
  5. Fold the chocolate chunks into the batter.
  6. Allow the dough to chill for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the convection microwave oven to 350 degrees F. Coat the baking sheet with baking spray or butter.
  8. Scoop the dough, roll into a ball shape, and place the rolled balls on the parchment paper. Place the dough about 1 inch apart from one another.
  9. Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes, or until they begin to turn a golden-brown color.
  10. Remove the cookies and allow them to cool. Once they have cooled, you are ready to serve the cookies!

I usually wait at least 10 minutes before helping myself to some cookies and a tall glass of milk!
