Deviled eggs with bacon on a black background

Deviled Eggs

When people first get to my house, I love to share a quick snack that they can grab and walk around with. Time and time again, I can always count on these deviled eggs from Hungry Happenings. Deviled eggs are a staple at any gathering of mine. They are easy to make and are a healthier alternative than some snacks. I can eat a dozen of these and not feel guilty! I always make extra because they are a crowd favorite and go quickly.

To make these, let’s gather the following:

  • 6 large eggs, hard-boiled
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • ½ teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon sweet pickle juice
  • 1 pinch table salt
  • 5 slices bacon, finely chopped

Once you have everything gathered, let’s hit the field (or kitchen in this case)!

  1. Cut the hard-boiled eggs lengthwise in half.
  2. Remove the yolks and place them into a bowl. Crumble the yolks.
  3. Add 1/3 cup mayonnaise to the bowl and mix until the texture becomes smooth and creamy.
  4. Spoon the mixture into 12 egg halves, leaving a border around the edge.
  5. While you can stop there, I like to go the extra 10 yards and make them look like footballs. I do this by sprinkling the bacon on top of the eggs and forming a football shape with the bacon. To create the laces, spoon the remaining mayonnaise into a plastic storage bag and cut a small opening at one corner of the bag. Pipe a straight line of mayonnaise down the center of each egg and 3-4 short lines going the opposite direction. Once you have your desired look, you’re ready to head into the end zone and enjoy!

buffalo chicken dip in a white dish with toasted bread on a table and white and gray napkin

Buffalo Chicken Bites

I’m a sucker for chicken wings but I love using what I already have in my house even more. I love to opt for something that won’t end up all over my fingers and face, too! I always have chicken breasts on hand at any given moment, so when I saw this Buffalo Chicken Bites recipe from Family Fresh Meals I knew I had to try it. This recipe combines the savory flavors of buffalo chicken with the perfect crunch of the baguette to create a snack people will be talking about for days. It’s definitely is a touchdown in my book!

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ lb. boneless chicken tenders or breast
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. black pepper
  • 1/3 cup buffalo sauce
  • 2 tsp. ranch seasoning
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • ¼ ranch dressing
  • 2 tbsp. sour cream
  • ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
  • 1 baguette loaf, cut into  1 in. slices

Now that we have all the equipment for the game, let’s go over some key plays to run to make this dish a win!

  1. Preheat your Sharp Convection Built-In Wall Oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Season chicken with 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon black pepper. Place the chicken onto a sheet pan and place it in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken has cooked through.
  3. Take the chicken out of the oven, allow it to cool slightly, and chop it into large chunks.
  4. Except for the baguette, combine the remaining ingredients and chicken into a large bowl. Mix until well combined.
  5. Over medium-high heat, place the slices of baguette onto a stovetop grill pan. Grill the baguette on both sides until it is lighted toasted. Remove the baguette from the heat.
  6. Depending on how spicy you want your snack to be, add a few drops of hot sauce on top of each baguette. For a spicier option, add more buffalo sauce.
  7. On each baguette slice, add 1-2 tablespoons of the buffalo mixture. If you are looking for additional garnishes, try adding more buffalo sauce, blue cheese crumbles, or chopped green onions, or serve as is! If you have tortilla chips on hand, you can put the baguette to the side and dip your chips instead! Place these out and watch people quickly gather around.

Philly Cheesesteak close up on a wooden table

Philadelphia Cheesesteak Sliders

Enjoy these Philly Cheesesteak Sliders from Homemade Interest within the comfort of your own home. No matter where you are enjoying the game, you can treat yourself and your guests to mouthwatering sliders! So, without further ado let’s head to the roster to see what we need to make this perfect pull-apart piece.

Roster (Ingredients):

  • 12 slider rolls
  • 1 pound steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 6 slices Provolone cheese
  • 2 tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp. butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp. onion, finely diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

So now that we know who is on the team, how do they work together to form Philly Cheesesteak Sliders?

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Place the bottom half of the slider rolls in an 11in. X 7 in. baking dish or on a baking sheet.
  3. In a skillet, cook the steak meat. Once the meat has been cooked through, set it aside on a plate.
  4. In the same skillet used to cook the meat, sauté the pepper and onions until they are tenderized.
  5. While the peppers and onions are cooking, spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the rolls.
  6. Once the peppers and onions have been sautéed, spread meat, then peppers and onions evenly across the rolls in the dish.
  7. Next, place provolone cheese on top of peppers and onions.
  8. In a bowl, mix the melted butter and finely diced onions.
  9. Place the top halves of the rolls on top of the cheese and evenly coat the tops with the butter and onion mixture.
  10. Cover the dish with tinfoil and place it into the oven for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes (or until the cheese has melted).
  11. Cut the sliders and serve!

I love this dish because it is quick, easy, and guests can easily grab a slider and go.

Football Cake Pops

A victory always feels sweet so it’s only right that we celebrate with something just as sweet. After indulging in savory foods all day long, I love to switch it up and go for something on the sweet side! When I came across this cake pop recipe from Taste of Home, I knew I would have to prepare it for the Big Game! Is there any better way to celebrate a win with everyone than football-shaped cake pops? I love the way they look and taste!

Ingredients:

  •  1 chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup cream cheese frosting
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup peanut butter chips
  • 1 tbsp. shortening
  • 48, 4-in. lollipop sticks
  • ¼ cup white decorating icing

Directions:

  1. Bake the cake according to the directions on the package. Allow the cake to completely cool. Once the cake has cooled, break the cake into crumbles in a large bowl.
  2. Add the cream cheese frosting and stir until fully mixed in. The mixture should be able to retain its shape when squeezed together with your hand. Measure out 1 tablespoon of the mixture and mold it into the shape of a football.
  3. Continue forming football shapes with the mixture until there is no more left. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and place the sheet into the refrigerator until the football-shaped pops are firm around 30 minutes.
  4. While the sheet is in the refrigerator, place chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, and shortening in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds.
  5. Remove the bowl from the microwave, stir, and repeat until the mixture is smooth and melted.
  6. Take a lollipop stick and dip it into the chocolate mixture. Insert the stick halfway through the football-shaped cakes. Allow the cake pops and lollipop sticks to set on the baking sheet while inserting the lollipop sticks into the remaining cake pops.
  7. Dip each cake pop into the chocolate mixture, being sure to coat the entire cake. Place the cake pops back onto the baking sheet after it has been coated.
  8. Once the chocolate coating has hardened around the cake pop and is firm to the touch, use the remaining icing to create laces.
  9. After the laces have dried, you are ready to serve and celebrate!
