What Can You Cook in a Steam Oven?

Superheated Steam Ovens are the start of a cooking revolution. The innovation is simply that steam can be hotter, cook better, and promote a Simply Better Living. A combination of superheated steam and conventional, radiant heat in cooking modes means that your food will be crispy and browned on the outside, moist and delicious on the inside. Steam ovens are perfect for the home chef so you can grill without smoke, roast without drying, and get the roasty-toasty, tasty results you desire.

Whether you’re new to the steam game or looking to expand your cookbook, I gathered 5 of my favorite steam oven recipes to help you elevate your cooking experience. This roundup includes a few of my favorite recipes for hosting from appetizers to desserts and everything in between.

Soft Pretzel Rolls

Soft pretzel rolls in a basket

There’s nothing like freshly baked rolls! Bake these Soft Pretzel Rolls in a Superheated Steam Oven.

One of my favorite parts of dining out is the bread rolls that come with the meal. When I walk into a restaurant and see bread on the table, I know the meal is going to be delicious (anyone else?). Don’t leave the special rolls to the restaurants and bring that same energy to your own house with fresh pretzel rolls! Treat yourself (and guests) to a chewy crust and super soft interior.

Soft Pretzel Rolls only take 14 minutes to bake in your Sharp Steam Oven.

These soft pretzel rolls are as delicious as they are versatile. Enjoy them on their own or use them to elevate an everyday sandwich. Serve them at your next BBQ in lieu of buns for a burger dish your guests will rave about.

Give me some butter, because we’re on a roll (with these steam oven recipes). Bring the bakery aroma into the comfort of your own home with our favorite versatile Pretzel Rolls.

Broiled Lobster Tails

Prepare a restaurant-quality meal in minutes using your Sharp Superheated Steam Oven.

I used to feel intimidated cooking seafood at home. It didn’t taste quite like the restaurant dishes until I began cooking with steam, and now the restaurant quality doesn’t even compare! Between preparing seafood in a steam oven and adding a little love to the dish, this Broiled Lobster Tails recipe is a perfect dish for when time is limited.

These Broiled Lobster Tails are prepared in a Sharp Steam Oven on SuperSteam+ Grill Mode. This cooking mode creates delicious grilled and sautéed items such as fish, vegetables, onions, and steak. Like the broil function in a traditional oven, food cooks for shorter lengths of time at high temperatures.

A rule of thumb is to broil the tails for 1 minute per ounce. 5-ounce tails will take 5 minutes, and 10-ounce tails will take 10 minutes.

This seafood dish is prepared and cooked in under 30 minutes.

What’s better than a 30-minute meal?

Cheesy Garlic Green Beans

These Cheesy Garlic Green Beans can be prepared in 15 minutes in the Sharp Smart Combi Built-In Steam Oven (SSC2489GS).

After deciding on the main dish, it is time to choose a side dish to complement it. I always like to have a veggie alongside my meals.

These Cheesy Garlic Green Beans check three of my favorite boxes when it comes to choosing a side dish: veggie, cheese, and garlic. Not to mention how quick and easy they are prepared.

If you prefer a different vegetable (like asparagus, zucchini, cauliflower, or broccoli), swap out the green beans for your favorite veggie.

I LOVE mozzarella cheese but sharp cheddar cheese and gruyere are both great options.

Greens beans prepared in a Sharp Superheated Steam Oven come out crisp and fresh tasting, while the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

No day is complete without a sweet treat. I like to reward myself for another day complete with a cookie cooked in my steam oven.

These Chocolate Chip Cookies bake for 9 minutes in the Sharp Smart Combi Steam Oven. The cookies will be very light in color and seem underbaked, but will firm up as they cool and be a perfect soft-baked chocolate chip cookie.

Not only do these cookies taste delicious, but the scent fills my home and lingers for hours.
